Rock n Roll Retreat NYC! Is an entirely volunteer run program operation. Volunteering at a Rock Camp can be an absolutely life changing experience! Our camp, can only operate with a tight group of volunteers willing to dedicate themselves fully to further the work! We have a several musical and non musical roles to fill this summer, read them over and fill out an application! We would love to have you!

BAND COACH - A staple at rock camp programs around the world, our band coaches act as cheerleaders and mentors to the amazing new bands that will be forming this summer! Band coaches should have basic musical knowledge and/or experience playing in a band.

INSTRUMENT INSTRUCTOR - Instrument instructors support our youth in learning their assigned instrument to the best of their abilities! For this role, we are looking for bassists, drummers, guitarists, and vocalists to mentor our youth in classes for young people to gain confidence for playing on stage. Instrument instruction isn't necessarily about making youth “better” musicians but rather a space for young people to express themselves through instrumentation and feel supported musically.

COUNSELOR/FLOATER - Counselors and Floaters are an essential part of any Rock Camp operation! Counselors help greet our campers each morning, attend workshops, and check in with youth everyday to ensure they are having a fun and safe experience! Counselors do not need to have any musical experience but do need to be comfortable and excited to work with youth in an environment that centers youth voices.

WORKSHOP LEADER - During the camp week, campers will attend workshops each day. Workshop topics can range from electronic music making and beat production to discussions about race and equality. Workshop leaders will discuss and plan their vision with our Program Coordinator. Workshop application will be dropping soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

KITCHEN - At Rock n Roll Retreat NYC!, we believe food is love!!! The kitchen crew is responsible for preparing food for our campers and volunteers. Our camp cannot function without you! Our kitchen crew will operate in 2 shifts, 9am - 12:30pm and/or 12:30pm - 5pm.

ROADIE - Our roadie crew will be responsible for moving and operating our gear throughout our camp space. There will be a lot of moving parts in order to make this operation run as smoothly as possible. We ask that our roadies have some very basic knowledge of gear or at least are willing to learn! We ask that our roadies are ready and able to do a lot of heavy lifting and physical work. Our roadie team will operate in 2 shifts, 9am - 12:30pm and/or 12:30pm - 5pm.
**Our camp centers the voices of girls, trans, and nonbinary youth. We would like our volunteer community to reflect those identities!

ENTRENADOR DE BANDA - Un elemento básico en los campamentos de rock alrededor del mundo, son nuestros entrenadores de banda, actúan como porristas y mentores para las nuevas bandas que se formarán este verano! Los entrenadores de banda deberá tener conocimiento básico y/o experiencia tocando en una banda.

INSTRUCTOR DE INSTRUMENTOS - Los Instructores apoyaran nuestros jóvenes, enseñándoles sus instrumentos asignados de acuerdo a sus habilidades! Para este role, estamos buscando bajistas, bateristas, guitarristas, y vocalistas para guiar a nuestra juventud. Las clases serán de una hora, lograr que los jóvenes perfeccionen y puedan actuar en el escenario. Tratando de hacer que puedan expresarse a través de la música, por medio de su instrumento.

CONSEJERO - Consejeros son una parte esencial de cualquier Campamento de Rock! Los consejeros estarán cada mañana asistiendo a los talleres y registrando los jóvenes para asegurar que están teniendo una experiencia divertida y segura! Los consejeros no necesitan tener experiencia musical, pero si necesitan sentirse cómodos y emocionados de trabajar con jóvenes.

LÍDER DE TALLER - Durante la semana, campistas asistirá a talleres cada dia. Los temas de los talleres pueden variar, haciendo música electrónica y producción de ritmo a discusiones de raza y igualdad. Líderes de talleres discuten y planifican, su visión con nuestra coordinador de programa.

COCINA - En Rock n Roll Retreat NYC!, nosotros creemos que la comida es amor!! El equipo de la cocina es responsable de preparar la comida de nuestros campistas y voluntarios. Nuestro campamento no puede funcionar sin usted! Porque camp va a ser virtual en 2021, no necesitamos un equipo de la cocina este año.

UTILERO - Nuestro utilero de equipo será responsable de que llevar y ver que todo nuestros instrumentos esten funcionando bien en nuestro campamento. Habrá muchas partes móviles para que esta operación se ejecute de la mejor manera posible. Necesitamos que nuestra utileros tengan conocimiento básico del material o al menos esten dispuestos a aprender! Porque camp va a ser virtual en 2021, no necesitamos cualquier utileros este año.
**nuestro campamento centra la voz de niñas, trans, y no-binario juventud. Nos gustaría que en nuestra comunidad de voluntarios se reflejen estas identidades!
